# Huracan coils, four values out of seven for Aspire's tank

> Huracan coils, Aspire's manual accepts only 4 of the 7 BP coils in the Huracan Tank. The values, the 2 ml TPD version and the traps in the range.

Search for Huracan coils and you get a long line of retailer listings saying the same thing, BP coils "compatible with Huracan". Seven values, from 0.15 to 1.0 ohm, sit under that shared label. Aspire's tank is far choosier than those listings suggest, and the manufacturer's own manual spells it out. The catch is knowing which Huracan you actually have.

## Which Huracan coils fit the Huracan Tank

**Huracan coils** belong to Aspire's BP series. A coil is the part that heats and vaporises the e-liquid, here a metal mesh wrapped in cotton. For the Huracan Tank, the sub-ohm tank paired with the Huracan EX and LX kits, only four of them are listed as compatible.

The Huracan EX user manual published by Aspire names four of them, the BP Pro Meshed 0.15 ohm (80 to 100 W), the BP Meshed 0.15 ohm (60 to 80 W), the BP Meshed 0.17 ohm (45 to 55 W) and the BP Meshed 0.3 ohm (30 to 40 W). The same document files the 0.4, 0.6 and 1.0 ohm BP coils under the heading "DO NOT Support".

Those four low values are built for direct to lung vaping, or DL, where vapour goes straight to the lungs through an open draw. The Huracan EX kit leaves the box with a 0.3 ohm coil fitted and a 0.17 ohm spare, two values from that short list.

## One BP series, several tanks reading different lists

The BP name covers a whole platform at Aspire, shared between tanks, pods and all in one kits. Each device accepts only part of the series, which is where the confusion on retail listings starts.

### The Huracan Tank, kept for the lowest values

The page Aspire dedicates to its BP coil platform backs up the manual. The Huracan Tank appears under the two 0.15 ohm coils, the 0.17 and the 0.3, and under nothing else. These are the lowest values in the series, 0.3 ohm and below, and they need a mod able to deliver real power, up to 100 W for the Pro version.

### The Huracan Mini, home of the higher values

The Huracan Mini takes the three values the larger tank leaves out, 0.4, 0.6 and 1.0 ohm. They run between 10 and 35 W and, according to retailers, suit a tighter draw, from mouth to lung (MTL, where vapour is held in the mouth before being inhaled) to restricted direct to lung. Both tanks share a name, but not the same **Huracan coils**.

### BP-F, a near namesake to keep apart

Aspire also sells a BP-F range in 0.15, 0.17 and 0.3 ohm, with a Pro version. The values and wattages match those of the Huracan Tank, yet the BP-F coils are matched to the H2 Tank alone. One extra letter on the box is enough to land on a different platform.

## Compatibility by value, in one table

The table below sets out the BP series as Aspire presents it, value by value, against the tank concerned. It replaces the single "Huracan compatible" line found on most listings.

| BP coil | Value | Wattage | Huracan Tank | Huracan Mini |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BP Pro Meshed | 0.15 ohm | 80 to 100 W | yes | no |
| BP Meshed | 0.15 ohm | 60 to 80 W | yes | no |
| BP Meshed | 0.17 ohm | 45 to 55 W | yes | no |
| BP Meshed | 0.3 ohm | 30 to 40 W | yes | no |
| BP Meshed | 0.4 ohm | 25 to 35 W | no | yes |
| BP | 0.6 ohm | 15 to 25 W | no | yes |
| BP | 1.0 ohm | 10 to 16 W | no | yes |

The reading is clear. Not one value is shared between the two tanks, whereas the BP80, BP Stik and Veynom pods accept a large share of the series.

## Huracan coils and the 2 ml TPD tank

The Huracan Tank is usually described as a 6 ml tank. Aspire's page for the Revolto kit gives the same Huracan Tank a capacity of 6.0 ml in its standard version and 2.0 ml in its TPD version.

In the United Kingdom, the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016 cap the tanks of nicotine vaping devices at 2 ml and limit nicotine containing e-liquid to 20 mg per ml in refill bottles of no more than 10 ml. The 2 ml TPD version is the one built to that figure. The Revolto page gives a single list for both capacities, so the **Huracan coils** to choose remain the same four values.

Before buying, the capacity printed on the box is the most reliable way to tell the two versions apart, since both tanks carry the same name.

## Why retail listings keep the confusion going

For the Observatoire, this case reflects a wider trend in refillable hardware. Manufacturers build coil platforms shared across several devices, as Aspire did with the AF coils of the [Flexus SE](/uk/flexus-se-pod-kit/), then keep each value for certain tanks depending on the power it targets.

Retailers, for their part, often write one listing for the whole series. The compatible devices appear as a single block, without matching each value to each tank, so a 1.0 ohm coil can look like a fit for the Huracan Tank.

The cross reference does exist. Aspire circulates a compatibility chart for its coil platforms, in a December 2024 edition, which sets every coil against every tank or pod, from the AF and BP series to the Nautilus coils. That three page document is rarely picked up on sales listings, which prefer a shorter list of models.

The mistake can be put right, since a BP coil simply pushes into the base of the tank. It still leaves a box of coils with no use, consumables that then join the wider stream of [vape waste](/uk/disposable-vape-waste/) and belong at a proper collection point.

## FAQ

A few questions come up when the time comes to replace the coil in this tank. The answers below add to the analysis rather than repeat it.

### How do you change the coil in the Huracan Tank?

It takes three moves. Unscrew the base of the tank, pull the used coil out firmly, then push the new one in and screw the base back on. Fill the tank and wait five minutes so the cotton can soak up the liquid before use.

### How can you tell a BP coil is worn out?

A flavour that fades or a burnt note usually points to a worn coil. The rate of wear changes with the wattage used and the type of e-liquid, with very sweet recipes generally clogging the cotton faster.

### Which e-liquid suits the Huracan Tank values?

Retailers point the 0.15 and 0.17 ohm coils towards liquids high in vegetable glycerine, above 50 per cent. Thinner liquids richer in propylene glycol sit better with the higher values of the Huracan Mini.

### How many coils come in a BP box?

Most retailers sell BP coils in packs of five, with a single value per pack, and a few sell them singly. The value is therefore chosen at the point of ordering, which is why checking the tank first matters.

### What kind of mod does the 0.15 ohm BP Pro need?

It needs a mod able to deliver 80 to 100 W and to accept a value that low. The Huracan EX mod is one example, with a 5 to 100 W range, coils accepted from 0.08 ohm and a single 18650 battery sold separately.

## Huracan coils, read the manual before the listing

The Huracan Tank does not call for complicated research, just careful reading. Four values suit it, the two 0.15 ohm coils, the 0.17 and the 0.3, all aimed at direct to lung vaping and the highest wattages in the series. Higher values, 0.4, 0.6 and 1.0 ohm, belong to the Huracan Mini, and the BP-F range to another tank.

The 2 ml version, the one that matches UK rules, follows the same list. The manufacturer's documentation is what counts, more than the generic line on retail listings.

When choosing **Huracan coils**, the safest habit is to start from the tank rather than the name of the series. The same logic runs through all refillable hardware, where consumable platforms keep multiplying, a trend the Observatoire will keep following.
